This was a week before Diwali and everyone in campus was planning to visit their hometown to celebrate the festival. I also planned my journey to Kolhapur from Vellore; taking a break in Bangalore. First I booked train ticket (Mysore Express) to Bangalore from Vellore and further VRL Volvo Sleeper to Kolhapur from Bangalore ARC. I usually prefer bus trips and not trains because I feel very bored in train journey. This time I have to cancel my train tickets as the timings were not matching. Also considering Bangalore rains, I decided to take an early departure bus to Bangalore. Last time I booked Jabbar Volvo for my father and he had an amazing journey to Bangalore with enough time before the next journey. So I decided to take the same.

It was a very busy morning. I have to submit my project work before 11:00 AM as I have to catch my bus at 2:00 PM from Vellore. I just finished my work around 11:30 AM and finished my lunch at hostel by 12:30. While going to my boarding point at Golden Travels, Vellore bypass I received a message from Jabbar travels about the bus number and driver contact number. I was so happy to hear that Shahjan Bhai was the crew for the journey. 

Shahjan Bhai is most popular Volvo captain among the busfans. He's one of the oldest Volvo bus captain. Many times I heard from my friends about his expertise driving. I was so excited to for the ride. Around 1:30PM I reached out to the Pickup point. Exactly at 2:01PM bus arrived. I rushed to the checker, gave my bags to him and went to cabin. Shahjan Bhai was busy with ticket check-in and distributing water bottles to passengers. After exchanging the greetings, we finally started our journey towards Bangalore.This B11R was maintained very well. Interiors were mint fresh. After boarding I remembered that I have to upload an assignment to my module. So I opened my laptop and started working on it. Within next 20 mins bus stopped for lunch at Hotel Anandhas near Sathiyamangalam. This is the popular place on Chennai - Bangalore highway where most of the private operator buses halt for breakfast or lunch. Quickly finishing my work, I stepped down from bus and started clicking pictures of the beast!!

After a long break of 25 minutes, we again started our journey. There was heavy rains outside and I was enjoying my rainy volvo ride. As mentioned by my fellow friends, Shahjan bhai's driving is such a good thing. Very smooth, No unwanted honking, No sudden brakes and maintaining lane rules.We passed Krishnagiri around 4:15PM. Now a days most of the operators providing mike so that crew can make announcements for drop points or any other instructions. As we reached to Electronic City Flyover Toll, we stuck in the traffic. Somehow after a wait of 40 mins our bus managed to escape from it and finally we got a clear way towards Madiwala. Shahjan Bhai and his colleague were helping the passengers with drop points. At Sharp 6:30 we reached Lalbagh Botanical Garden which was last stop. I did goodbye to Shahjan Bhai. It was really amazing experience for me. I'm very much impressed with his command on the coach.
