It was a very unplanned trip to Pune. In the morning I was
searching for the bus on internet, suddenly I saw Nakoda’s Volvo Seater was
available & I decided to book a ticket in Nakoda. Recently Nakoda started 2+1
Maharaja seat Volvo B9R Multiaxle on Kolhapur – Pune – Kolhapur route. Here in
Maharashtra, We have 2+2 seat configuration for semi sleeper. 2+1
configuration is popular in North - East region of country. Nakoda is
the first operator to introduce 2+1 seater volvo in Maharashtra. I waited
eagerly for the trip as it was my first journey in 2+1 seater volvo.
I was at my pickup point Sana Travels, Swargate, Pune a good
30mins early. The Manager at Sana told
that bus will arrive in few minutes. This was a big surprise that the bus
arrived exactly 10 mins before departure time escaping through pune traffic. Usually
the travel agent gave traffic : A big reason for delay but Nakoda was
exception. Crew parked the Swedish giant in front of office within 2/3 minutes.
I boarded the bus and immediately made by way towards the rear of the bus.
There were appox 8-10 passengers boarding here. The pickup man was busy calling
a passenger who was yet to show up. The interiors of the bus appeared well maintained. We left Swargate at
4:10pm. The attendant came around with the chart to check online bookings
quickly. We headed towards Sarasbag road as we had a pick-up at Dandekar Pool. The
traffic slowed down the multiaxle on Sinhagad road. We again stopped for
passenger pick-up at Navale bridge on Highway. At 5:15pm the bus enters at a Reliance
Petrol bunk after Khed – Shivapur Toll plaza. While the bus
gulped in fuel, passengers took a bio break. We resumed our journey further and
finally we started climbing Khambataki
Ghat section. Road widening work was going on & only single lane was
available. The driver made a
much disciplined progress in the ghat section - not over speeding, not changing lanes and
handling the sharp curves in smooth way.

As
expected the bus pulled over for a short 15 mins break at
Hotel Sai Park In at Wai Phata. I got chance to click few pictures here. Perfect
time to click the buses is before the sunset.

We moved along passing through
Aanewadi Toll Naka, Satara and Tasawade toll along the route. The bus was
running full. I’m very much surprised by the driving of Mr. Shelar. The way he
overtakes & commands the coach in ghats was fabulous. He was very silent
& punctual. We had a drop off at Peth Naka. The pace was constant, and the driver stuck to
the lane for most of the time. We finally reached to Kini Toll plaza at 8:35
pm. We exited the highway & entered in Kolhapur city exactly at 8:45pm. Finally
was dropped off at Ruikar colony, at 8:50pm.
Overall the
journey was good. The bus was maintained fairly well. The driving was very
sedate and the crew did an
excellent job – no over-speeding, no unwanted honking at night, proper use of
light signals for side request & lane changing. The crew behaved properly
to passengers. The service quality was really good.

Maharaja seats give super comfort while Traveling. For elderly people this is the best option to travel between Pune
& Kolhapur. This service is a must try.
